Last year, the current presidential candidate Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu for Turkey’s opposition CHP (or Republican People’s Party) spoke to Al Jazeera. At the time, Ihsanoglu was still secretary general of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), headquartered in Saudi Arabia and funded by Islamic nations across the world.
