During the the 28th session of the COMCEC meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul, Ahmad Mohamed Ali Al Madani, the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), announced that his institution would open an office in Istanbul. The IBD aims ‘to foster the economic development and social progress of member countries and Muslim communities individually as well as jointly in accordance with the principles of Islamic Law. The present membership of the Bank consists of 56 countries’. And now, Istanbul is set to become the hub of the financial world of Islam.
