‘A militant group fighting against the Syrian government says US-led airstrikes have killed a number of civilians, including children, near the Turkish border. Ahrar al-Sham said in a statement that overnight raids also destroyed one of its bases near the border. US-led airstrikes also struck the al-Qaeda-linked Nusra Front for only the second time since the coalition was formed in September. Several militants are said to have been killed in the attacks carried out in the provinces of Idlib and Aleppo. The so-called US-led coalition has done little to stop the ISIL’s advances in parts of Syria and in western Iraq. Many have criticized the aerial military campaign in Syria, saying the strikes are meant to destroy the Arab country’s infrastructure (7 Nov 2014)’.
